All patterns
37 ways of working found across the Antz modules, each settled into one version. Start a new module from these before drawing anything new.
How to use
- Each pattern is built only from components already in the system.
- "Seen in" lists the modules where it was found on the Design Links hub on 26 Oct 2026; the page shows the settled version.
- Patterns tied to one kind of work live under Module patterns.
- Every card and record page is assembled from Card parts and Detail page parts.
Choosing
Changes the site everything on the screen belongs to.
A full page to find and choose one record or many from a long list: animals, organs, tests, assessment types.
Find an enclosure or animal by search or QR, or step through Site → Section → Enclosure → Animal.
Choose who does something: a vet, a keeper, an approver.
Two to four big options that change what comes next, such as where a test happens.
A QR button beside search jumps straight to the enclosure, animal or pass.
Matches appear under the field as people type, with the match in bold.
Entering data
A big value with its unit and an on-screen pad, for weights, doses and counts.
A value or a range on a known scale, such as heart rate or activeness.
Counts by kind and condition with a live total, such as eggs by state and temperature.
Repeat a group of fields, such as another collection date or another dose time.
A switch whose "no" needs a reason before the form can be sent.
One tap repeats the previous value or answer.
A pencil turns a read-only section into fields with Cancel and Save, without leaving the page.
A repeat or unusual entry gets a warning line and is still allowed.
Building a request
Collect several items into one request: tests, medicines, studies.
Apply, preview and save a set of choices people make again and again.
Add photos and files, and view them full screen.
See every item, then send with the count on the button.
Long forms save as drafts; Submit turns on when complete; the record is read-only after.
Put new items into an existing record or start a new one.
Working a list
Pick several records in a list and act on them together.
A list item opens the screen that fits its status.
Give a record to a person from the list or the record, and show who has it.
Switch whose work the list shows: everyone's, mine, or a role's.
A module opens with its numbers, then a chart or two, then the list.
Tap a number to see only those records.
One card for a clutch, litter or batch, with a tick for the whole group.
A searchable list of tabs when a record has too many to scroll.
Record pages
The bottom of a record says where it stands and what happens next.
After submit, a short result that offers the obvious next task.
Request work from another team, then follow it with counts and steps.
Long records in sections that open and close, with tabs that follow the scroll.
A thread on a record with a box to add one.
A value with a sparkline that opens its full history.
